And what helps make sure the problem does not come back? These are the questions that <strong>Karmen Perko, dipl. podo. (VS)<\/strong>, owner of Center Pedimed, set out to answer in her diploma thesis. <strong>64 clients<\/strong> whose ingrown toenails we treated with a three-part brace between 2012 and 2022 \u2013 that is, one to ten years after completing treatment \u2013 took part in an anonymous survey.<\/p><p>The diploma thesis <em>Spremljanje uspe\u0161nosti obravnave vra\u0161\u010denega nohta s tridelno ortoniksijo<\/em> (Monitoring the effectiveness of ingrown toenail treatment with three-part orthonyxia) was completed in 2025 at VIST \u2013 Faculty of Applied Sciences in Ljubljana (Podiatry programme), supervised by senior lecturer Gaja Udovi\u010d, mag. kozm. The thesis is written in Slovenian and is freely available in full in the <a href=\"https:\/\/hdl.handle.net\/20.500.12556\/ReVIS-12609\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ReVIS repository<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ebb46d4 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"ebb46d4\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8a54519 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8a54519\" data-element_type=\"widget\" id=\"podoloska-tridelna-ortomiksija\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Key findings<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f83f0c1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f83f0c1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li><strong>87%<\/strong> of respondents were satisfied with three-part brace treatment.<\/li><li><strong>89%<\/strong> would recommend the brace to friends and acquaintances with an ingrown toenail.<\/li><li><strong>69%<\/strong> reported that the ingrowth had resolved after completing treatment.<\/li><li>In <strong>two thirds (66%)<\/strong> of those who completed the full course of treatment, the ingrowth did not recur within a period of up to ten years.<\/li><li><strong>96%<\/strong> came regularly, once a month, for check-ups and brace repositioning.<\/li><li><strong>96%<\/strong> had no nail damage after treatment.<\/li><\/ul><p><em>The results are based on an anonymous survey in which clients assessed their own condition.
