How do we treat ingrown nails? We use medical clips such as the 3TO and WHO clips

What is 3TO clip?

"3to

Medical 3TO (3-teilige Orthonyxie) clip means a clip that corrects nails on the hands or feet – the clip is similar to a clip that corrects teeth. This medical clip is crucial in regulating the natural growth of nails. The installation is performed individually, as the side wires are individually designed according to the condition of the nail plate (this method requires additional knowledge and experience of a medical pedicurist, which is supported by the therapist’s certificate of competence from 3TO Gmbh.

We are especially proud of the 3TO clip, as we were the first in Slovenia at our Centre Pedimed and we have been happy to implement it for 15 years. We also perform podofix, combiped staples that belong to the 3TO family.

Importers from Germany for the 3TO clip is the company Bizjan & CO, d.o.o.

What is VHO clip?

Thanks to the medical pedicurist Elvira Osthold from Erlangen, who in 1988 invented an extremely painless treatment for problematic and ingrown nails. VHO stands for Virtuose Human Orthonyxie. The clip has always experienced new improvements throughout its existence and is a staple that is fully completed and intended for installation.

VHO-Osthold-Spangen PERFECT is a clip system that, unlike other clamp techniques, is based on alternating lever and lever operation. This is a way to overcome the enormous natural restorative force of the nail, which can reach up to 10 kg in an adult. While other systems use only the elastic restorative forces of a pre-bent spring steel wire that seeks to restore the nail to its original shape, the strength of the VHO-Osthold-Spange PERFECT bracket comes from bending the middle loop and the associated shortening of the clamp. Such a shortening of the length of the clip causes a change in the shape of the nail, leading to the edges of the nail being raised.

Importers from Germany for the VHO clip is the company Kana d.o.o., Žalec (GEHWOL, GERLACH).

Who is the 3TO or VHO clip for?

The 3TO and VHO clip are designed for everyone. It can even be worn by children, even diabetics. The buckle does not cause problems when wearing shoes, sports activities, workplace, etc.

Why is surgery not the answer?

In our many years of practice, clients who have already undergone surgery come to us for help.

The practice in Slovenia is to treat an ingrown nail surgically with nail surgery, but due to the frequent recurrence and failure of operations and permanent nail deformities, it is not a favorable solution and the procedure is also very painful.

Pictures after surgical procedures (nail deformities) can be viewed in the menu NAIL PROSTHETICS where the only possible solution to the situation later.

Abroad, they solve ingrown nails with a 3TO clip, which is the only one recognized and installation is possible on a concession, as this method does not require sick leave, because there is no pain.
