Traditional methods have a success rate of 50 – 73%, which sometimes gives a false positive result. Studies show that the FungiCheck is the most reliable test for determining the presence of dermatophytes in the nails, which is 97% accurate compared to traditional methods.

To perform the test, a sample is taken from the surface of the nail plate or the distal part. The weight of the required sample is 1 mg. The sample is dissolved in the extraction liquid into which the test strip is dipped. In the presence of dermatophytes, the test line turns grey-purple. The test is quick and easy to perform. The result is known in approx. 10 minutes.
