Viral plantar warts (lat. verrucae plantares) are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). They can appear anywhere on the foot, they are usually painless, but in locations exposed to pressure during walking, they cause pain (clients feel this most often when walking barefoot). In appearance, people often mistake them for corns, but warts are characterized by visible capillaries in their core, which customers describe as “black dots”.
